BPC-157 also known as the body protection compound is a pentadecapeptide meaning it consists of 15 amino acids and is actually derived from a naturally occurring protein found in human gastric juices. This peptide is the ultimate injury healing peptide for soft tissuesÂ
How it works: BPC-157 works by promoting Angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) by stimulating Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor or VEGF along with activating VEGFR2 pathways. Administration and Dosing:
- Subcutaneously(SubQ): This is the most common form of injecting as it simply goes just under the skin into the fat layer for minimal risk and minimal pain
- Intramuscularly(IM): Probably the least common of the four ways but this allows for faster absorption and larger dosing capabilities at once, not usually recommendedÂ
- Intra-articularly(IA): This form of injecting involves injecting a large quantity of BPC-157 directly into the joint space, it has been studied to be the most effective way of taking this, however the risk to reward ratio of this method is questionable when compared to Subq. DO NOT attempt to do this by yourself and only have it done by a doctor.
- Orally: This method of taking BPC-157 is most effective for any of the mentioned GI benefits that it brings, however it is not quite as effective for injuries this way so you will not gain quite as many systemic benefits
- Injecting information: For Subcutaneous injections BPC-157 has quite a short half life of about 4 hours so dosing will want to be split up as 250-750 mcg per day usually split up into two injections for maximum blood concentration levels throughout the day. BPC-157 is mainly systemic so the location of the injection is not needed to be right next to the area of injury every injection, however, it has been shown that flooding the area with the peptide does have some increased efficiency so it is recommended to inject once per day within the area of injury and the other spot can be anywhere
